Caaaaake

I finished the fourth class in my second Wilton Cake Decorating Course tonight! WOO HOO

This was a really fun class as we got to learn how to make a wide variety of flowers as you will see from the pictures of my cake. I really enjoyed this class and start the next course in 2 weeks (thanks to Labor Day) which is learning how to make tiered cakes and fondant roses.

Here's my cake!! I started making the flowers last Tuesday night so that they could dry. We spent the entire 2 hours of the class doing the basket weave and rope borders and of course there was enough time left to put our flowers on the cake.

Lots of people ask about my mom and her amazing skills at cake decorating. Here is the cake she made for the baby shower on Saturday which was incredible!!

It looked so realistic that most people thought it really was luggage:

I just shed a tear. Your cake looks awesome and of course you already know how awesome I think your mom's cake is, but I will tell her.

mom: you did an incredible job on the cake. I really did not believe you that it was real until we cut it and it was delicious! Thank you for making it for us!!!!!!

Looks like I won't be making cakes for you girls much longer. Seems that Becca is going to take on Nashville area really quick. I enjoy doing this for anybody. It was really fun and I would do it again for you.

Thanks for all the kind words! I wasn't fishing for compliments, but I appreciate everyone's thoughtfulness.
