I Heart Christmas

Really... I love it. I love everything about Christmas, but this week finds me "mourning" Christmas. I get so excited about Christmas that once it's come and gone, I get a little sad sometimes. Not depression sad, but just sad that it's all over with and we have to wait 1 whole year for it to come again.
Christmas is full of wonderful memories for me and I am determined to keep them going as long as possible!
Brent and I were so fortunate to get to spend five days in Chattanooga for Christmas this year. It was really nice because we didn't have to rush from one family gathering to the next. Christmas Day has always been fully dedicated to my family - Brent has always graciously "given" me Christmas because he knows how special it is for me. We started the morning at 6:30 a.m. at my sister's house watching my niece and nephews open their presents from Santa. We left there around 9am and headed to my parents where we exchanged gifts with each other and spent the day eating, napping and eating some more. (Maybe THIS is why I like Christmas so much??)

The rest of the visit consisted of a few movies and of course family time with the Whitakers and a little shopping trip with my mom.

Movies we saw and my Ratings:
Bedtime Stories with Adam Sandler 3 out of 5 stars
This is a great movie for kids. It was funny and entertaining.
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button with Brad Pitt 4 out of 5 stars
JJ thought this was a horrible movie because it was over 3 hours long. Granted, the first hour could have been condensed, but overall it was a great story line. The movie lost a star because of the time.
Val Kyrie with Tom Cruise 5 out of 5 stars
By far the best movie we saw all week. I wasn't necessarily wanting to see this one, but it was VERY entertaining and interesting!
I hope you all have a wonderful last week of 2008! I cannot believe the year has already wrapped up. Brent and I have had a very fun, exciting 2008. When we started this year, we knew there would be a lot of fun and exciting changes, but never would we have imagined how much God has blessed our lives.

We can only imagine all that 2009 has in store for the Whitakers.

Brent and I wish you all a very Happy New Year.

A great Christmas summary. I am so glad we got to see you guys not once but twice. We feel honored :). I am so surprised about Val Kyrie being good. Hmm. Guess we will have to see that after all. Saw Doubt last night. Really good and short. Makes up for benjamin button :)
