Today we got invited to go to the zoo with our good friends. It was supposed to be a beautiful day - 71 degrees and a "little windy." Yeah, unfortunately the weather people got the "little windy" part wrong. It was REALLY windy. To the point it felt like it was going to rain at any second - definitely not 71 degrees, but definitely not 30 degrees. At any rate, we had such a great time! Gabbie loved all the animals, did a great job hanging out in her stroller looking at all the animals.
We had our friend Penelope go along with us as well who was such a huge help and LOVED the Meerkats.
Such a great time - definitely many more days to come at the zoo!
We definitely felt a little like the stroller brigade with 5 strollers and one walker. The good thing was that we were in good company. Because the weather forecast was supposed to be so great, I think every other mom in Nashville thought it was a good day to see the animals. (You can click on each of the collages to make it bigger so you can see the pictures better)
All the animals were out and active today - including the beautiful giraffes. I love these animals - they are absolutely beautiful and so fun to watch! They have recently added a little bambino to their clan - you can see him off in the distance.
The flamingos were very active today to say the least. I wish I had broken out the video camera way before I did because of course I didn't actually catch all the action. They kept "running" across the water right in front of us which was a little intimidating. My favorite part is how Gabbie imitates the noise that the flamingos are making - or as she calls them "brrrd."
This video is Gabbie laughing at the donkey. She calls it a brrd of course, but still funny. She really loved being so up close and personal with the animals in the petting area. I, however, decided you have to just get over the germ thing really quick especially after she petted the goat then immediately put her thumb in her mouth. YUCK. Can we stop the thumb thing now, please?
