Kairos Softball

The first that week we attended Kairos at Brentwood Baptist Church, Brent and I were recruited to play on their softball team. We have games pretty much every Friday, but the season is fastly coming to an end. We've had so much rain here that most of our games got rained out and they never made them up, so Brent and I only played in a grand total of 4 games.

We have our last regularly scheduled game this week and then it's on to the tournament. So far, we're 3-3 (which explains the gang-like "threes" held up by several in our team photo).

I have come to realize that among other things, being overweight and out of shape makes playing softball MUCH more difficult. Not to mention, getting older is no fun: I can no longer see the ball at night playing in the outfield.

Short story: pop fly comes my way in Right Field (yes, I am that bad that they stick me in right field) and I cannot see it to save my life. The guy playing next to me in right center field, comes sprinting across in front me and catches the ball. Talk about showing me up...oh well. I can only reminisce of days past when my life revolved around softball, playing every weekend in 110 degree temperatures, spending 4 out of 5 nights a week at a pitching coach and/or practice.

Life goes on and suddenly your world revolves around things much more important. I think it's called "growing up."

In the group shot I was thinking that looks like Becca's cousin and then in the next picture the truth be told, it was her.

I am remembering the time you coaxed me into filling in for your team and I was placed in that very right out field position. It is a hard thing, but some body has to do it. ha! I was very inattentive and really just another warm body.

Is that booty feeling any better?
